Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
I spent months working 12 hour days cleaning floors and tearing down wallpaper with one child strapped on my back, and others crawling inside the playpen. Ha! It was all falling into place, however we were nowhere near done. It would take the time, energy, and of course my favourite shopping experience for furniture to decorate this home. To stay on budget I began attending estate sales with three sons to find gems hidden in the dirt. Every week, we would stroll through estate and garage sales on Saturdays and Thursdays buying a mixture of old and new pieces. Then I would spend working on my projects on our front lawn. Furniture looked this way... which is where I found my love to restore. After our home was fully furnished, I could not stop! I had a stand at the local market and also sold items there. Eventually, my collection grew enough that the area I had available was no longer adequate. My home was where I started hosting open houses where more than 1000 guests could visit and purchase any product they wanted from the first floor in just one weekend. That's how my company Growing Days was born. In addition to my thriving business, I also had the pleasure of growing our family. Finding the balance was important to me. I wished to balance being a mother and a successful business owner. Growing Days just fit. Nora joined us in 2013 and became our fourth baby. My business's direction was excellent, however I needed to take some time off. I decided to put off building my old furniture for a few months and spend time with my children. The time was right. It rang once more after a while. Many people called me seeking advice on home improvement and decorating. The majority of people who contacted me were people who had attended one of my furniture open houses. As I went along I began adding clients one by one. However, it didn't take that long before I was managing several clients, and had a profitable home improvement business. If you'd told me that my business would be the premise for a DIY Network show, I might have been astonished. Indeed, I am laughing a little when I remember the episode.
